Have A Fun First Date

So you finally got up enough nerve to ask that special someone out and they said yes! Now you've got one shot to make a good impression and convince them to see you again. If your first date is a flop chances are there will not be a second date to follow. You've got one chance to show what you have to offer and entice them to want to get to know you better. If you want to really make a good impression and have a fun first date here are a few ideas that go beyond the typical movie and dinner option.

  • The Pool Hall - you can head out for a fun night of billiards and enjoy some light competition. The pool hall can be a busy and happening place which makes for some interesting people watching, but it is not too loud that you can't carry on a decent conversation.
  • Miniature Golf -this is a great place to go for a really fun first date. Most miniature golf places also have arcades, batting cages, go carts and other activities to enjoy as well as the golf courses.
  • Concert - While a first date is really all about getting to know each other and having a pleasant conversation, a concert can still be a good option. During the summer months you may be able to catch a concert in the park. Bring along a picnic lunch and a blanket to sit on.
  • Amusement Park- For a really fun first date hit up an amusement park or local fair. You can get to know each other while standing in line for the rides and get a feel for how fearless (or fearful) your date is regarding roller coasters. There are also many fun games to play and lots of yummy food.
  • Drive-In Movie - While movies in general are not good first date ideas a drive in is a totally different experience. For starters you don't have to worry about offending the people behind you if you talk through the whole movie. Sitting out beneath the stars while watching a flick can be pretty romantic too.

Any of these first date ideas should be successful enough to get you a second date. After that it's up to you to make it work!
